Update: June 26th, 2025

   It’s been a few months since I did an update—for the most part, my side effects remain the same. I do have a PRAISE REPORT to share: My latest CT scan shows that the current cancer mass has shrunk by nearly HALF since I began these treatments in late February. I am thanking my Lord up above for this! I pray that it will continue to shrink until it is no more. 

   Due to the continuous side effects that are negatively impacting my skin, my oncologist has referred me over to a dermatologist that specializes in dermatology for cancer patients. I am hoping that this helps and that this doctor will have some other remedies for me to try. The splits on my hands/fingers/heels are very painful, and the ones on my heels bust open and bleed whenever I walk. I will say that the breakout all over my body has gotten better recently, so that’s a plus! 

   In other news I just turned 36… it’s hard to believe. It’s funny how when we’re younger we want time to speed up, and now that i’m older I just want it to slow down. My best friend took me to Brookgreen Gardens to enjoy the scenery and the current art that is on display—I thoroughly enjoyed it! (Thank you again Deava & Micah!!😘) For my birthday Scott & I just enjoyed a lazy day around the house & we picked up our new addition to the Suggs house: Ari! While Harley can never be replaced and I will ALWAYS love and miss her so very much, it was time that we shared our love with another furbaby. We got Ari at 8 weeks old, have had her a couple of weeks now, and she is such a cute mess.😂 She is teething and wants to chew on everything (toes included—OUCH!)🤕

Today is the Day

 It’s about 1:30 am and of course I can’t sleep. Surgery begins in a few hours and is expected to last 12-14 hours. Still somewhat nervous but it’s nowhere near as nervous as I have been. I actually feel pretty calm for the most part. Update 1/16/25

Hey y’all. First I would like to thank you all again for all of your prayers. I’ve said this many times before, but waiting to hear if your cancer has come back never gets any easier. In fact, I believe it gets harder every time.   They ended up just taking a biopsy of only the nodule in my chest (right above my collar bone). It breaks my heart again to share that it did come back as cancer. They are planning to do surgery in 2-3 weeks. In the meantime, they are going to also do an ultrasound of my thyroid nodule to see if there is concern and if a biopsy is needed there. As for the area in my tongue, they will likely take biopsies while I am under anesthesia for the surgery coming up. I don’t know why this keeps happening… I don’t know why it keeps coming back and spreading… but I have to believe that there is a greater reason for it. Please continue to pray. Visit to MUSC

We met the surgery team at MUSC for the first time yesterday. Still nothing concrete yet ; however, it's looking as though there will be another surgery to attempt clear margins, and also to maybe put in a muscle graft from another part of my body. This will require them to attach muscle vessels somewhere in my neck to get blood supply. Also, it is highly likely that I will have a trach for a while so that I can breathe properly. I may also have another feeding tube. The doctor indicates that those will hopefully be removed before discharge or shortly after. Again, this plan could change after review of my whole case. Right now, we are waiting on MRI results and also for the complete tumor board to review my case and come up with a final plan of action. Surgery will most likely not be for a few more weeks. This is going to be a long recovery...I may have to learn how to speak again, but their hope, as well as ours, is that the muscle they put in will help me be able to hopefully be...
